ADVANCING EXCELLENCE IN GLOBAL CONSUMER PROTECTION

Consumers International is building a world where everyone has access to safe and sustainable products and services. But many countries are falling behind, with insufficient protections in place for consumers.

Consumers International works with a broad set of stakeholders - including our Members, government, international organisations, civil society and others - to secure the gold standard of consumer protection measures at national and international levels.

In recent years, we worked to bring the UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection up to date, influenced international standards on areas ranging from energy services, water and sanitation and mobile banking, and secured endorsement from the United Nations in support of World Consumer Rights Day on 15 March, which champions the rights of consumers across critical issues in consumer advocacy. We have also shone a light on the state of consumer protection and empowerment worldwide through innovative tools such as our Consumer Protection and Empowerment Index - demonstrating the gaps and where we might build trust for and with consumers worldwide.

Through collaboration and the collective strength of our global membership, we can better safeguard the interests of consumers for years to come.
